Staff at Three Falls

"A+" "They turned it up to an 11" "All staff went out of their way to make our experience exceptional" "You set the standard"

Campers and leaders rave about our Three Falls camp staff, and with good reason -- they are some of the friendliest, hardest-working, and most dedicated people you'll ever meet.

Quality staff starts months before camp, as we accept applications before the first of the year and conduct interviews in January. A large proportion of our staff returns each year -- typically around two-thirds -- and we search Ventura County and beyond to find the best people to fill the remaining positions. Those selected for staff meet monthly for full-day training sessions "down the hill" through the spring months. We arrive in camp a full week before campers to complete our training and do physical setup of camp -- preparing for our five and a half weeks of camper sessions.

It's a tough job. We ask a lot. But our staff can take well-justified pride in the level of program and service they provide to our campers. Camp staffers learn responsibility, interpersonal skills, and self-discipline; forge lasting friendships and lifelong memories.

If you'd like to be part of our team, you can download an application from the Ventura County Council Web site. Return it to the VCC office no later than the end of December. We will contact you to schedule an interview. Staff members are expected to attend three Saturday training sessions in Camarillo from March through May, and need to make themselves available for camp from mid-June to late July.

Young men and women who are at least 14 years old can serve as Counselors in Training, a non-paid position. Those 15 and older can be considered for paying positions as Instructors or Assistant Instructors. We also need responsible individuals 18 and older to serve as Area Directors and other supervisory positions.
